Earlier this year, Oceania Cruises unveiled Oceania Aurelia™, The Ultimate Explorer, designed specifically for longer voyages. Launching in late 2027, Oceania Aurelia will carry fewer than 500 guests on inaugural sailings in the Mediterranean before crossing the Atlantic to the United States, where the iconic Around the World voyage will embark. Oceania Aurelia will also host the 2029 Around the World Voyage and two Grand Voyages in 2028.
Because this ship was built with extended travel in mind, a major focus was placed on the onboard enrichment and comforts that make the ship feel more like a residence at sea or second home. Think unhurried, comfortable and deeply rewarding global travel experiences.
"Oceania Aurelia is our ultimate world explorer," said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises. "She is designed specifically for guests who desire greater space, more suites and a deeper level of personalized care, particularly for extended journeys. Oceania Aurelia will be a smaller, more club-like ship that truly feels like a home at sea, providing travelers a deeper connection to the ports they visit."
What makes this ship different is that it is not truly a new build, but a complete reimagining of Oceania Nautica. This goes far beyond updating the carpet and curtains – it is a comprehensive transformation. Inspired by the openness and elegance of Oceania’s newest ships, Oceania Aurelia will have the feel of a spacious boutique hotel at sea. New experiences and thoughtfully designed spaces have been added to help guests connect more deeply with the world around them, ensuring the journey is just as meaningful as the destinations.
If you're looking forward to a touch of nostalgia on board, you'll still find the welcoming crew and The Finest Cuisine at Sea® that Oceania is known for. Nearly everything else, however, has been reimagined with a focus on enhancing the guest experience down to the smallest detail.
