  Ellen was very helpful in getting us on the kind of cruise we wanted. If she wasn't available when we called, she always called back in a timely manner. Her explanations about the cruise gave us good information. Her scheduling of the two excursions we took were exactly what we wanted. Our verandah room was perfect. We appreciated the $100 onboard credit from Cruise Specialists and the surprise onboard $25 shopping gift! Ellen suggested we sign up for the evening dinning room at a table of six. We did that one evening and decided we much preferred doing the evening buffet in the Lido Market so we could eat with a variety of people. We are both extroverts and enjoy meeting new people so that suited us best. Ellen would not have known that about us.

• A travel agent is the best kept secret

  I can’t say enough about how much we appreciated Ellen as our travel agent. This is not our first trip with her. Previously, our grandson contracted salmonella. We thought we were going to have to go to the hospital and miss our trip. Ellen jumped right in to make calls and help ease our concerns. Fortunately, our grandson recovered and we made the trip. This time we wanted to celebrate our 40 year anniversary with our best friends who were also celebrating 40 years. At the very last minute I sent Ellen an email giving her a very narrow window to travel. I gave her a 10 day timeframe between specific dates, that could only be in a very warm climate, and Delta as our transportation. Within about 30 minutes, she connected us with Silver seas. It was our first time on that cruise line and we fell in love with it. It was a fantastic trip and Ellen met all our needs. Anytime we had a question or request she hopped right on it. She got our Travel Insurance, our transportation to and from airports. She gave us tips on navigating new and unfamiliar territory. I really mean it when I say, “how in the world have we traveled around the world without a travel agent like her?”. Well we’ve got her now and we are most grateful. Thank you, Ellen.

• Finding the best cruise for us

  Ellen has helped us with two cruises, a river cruise in Europe and an ocean cruise in the US. She helped us to filter through all of the options to quickly come up with several comparable cruises that fit our needs, then quickly completed the booking and obtained and completed our travel insurance purchase. Between the booking and the cruise, Ellen kept us up to date on requirements from the cruise line and getting our documents in order.

  I had a good time! Could have been better if I had been more aware of the size of the ship, the amount of people aboard & all the children! Most people’s attire was less than casual! To be perfectly honest, I was shocked! The ships crew were attentive, friendly & respectful! Every night for dinner, my girlfriend and I dressed nicely-not over the top but certainly nicer than old shorts & sloppy tee shirts! The servers remarked how pleasant it was to see us dressed nicely & neatly! The food was very good! The excursions were interesting & informative! Huge disappointment with the St John excursion! Not much to see & experience! Would have been much happier with Providence! The explanations about the excursions were not entirely true! They were very flowery in order to sell the tour but were not entirely honest! In spite of the above, I enjoyed myself but would rethink taking another cruise!
