Newest Seabourn Fleet Member: Cruising on Seabourn Venture

Carolina Pickens

When it comes to memorable luxury cruise lines, Seabourn is one of the first that comes to mind. Their dedication to creating a relaxing atmosphere aboard each of their ships—along with serving up gourmet meals and providing outstanding perks—keeps guests coming back for more year after year. Since its first ship entered service in the late ’80s, Seabourn has established itself as a leader among luxury cruise lines and voyages around the world to all seven continents. Inquisitive travelers can now travel aboard Seabourn Venture, the first ultra-luxury expedition ship to join the Seabourn fleet.

“The name Seabourn Venture is an exciting step in the process of launching even more immersive voyages designed specifically for the expedition traveler who dares to go beyond the norm in terms of destinations and experiences they seek,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “Combined with the team of 26 experts that will bring the expedition experience to life, we are going to draw on our pedigree to deliver breathtaking experiences and I know Seabourn Venture is going to create lifetime memories for the adventurer that wants to go farther, into more remote destinations than they may have ever seen before, in true Seabourn ultra-luxury.”

Qualities of Venture

Constructed by accomplished luxury shipbuilder T. Mariotti, Seabourn Venture has been crafted at the highest quality to adhere to strict environmental standards. Incorporating forward-thinking designs to create a complement of both luxury and expedition cruise features, Venture carries 264 passengers operated by 120 crew members. Those aboard can enjoy mingling in the Expedition Lounge and attend Seabourn Conversations and other educational programs in the Discovery Center. Gourmet fare will be served at each meal, in line with the Seabourn brand. Of course, some of the biggest draws of the ship are the 132 ocean-front, veranda suites. Guests will admire the streams of light flooding their quarters during the day as well as the expansive nocturnal view of the ocean spread before them after the sun has set.

Exclusive Ship Features

The ship carries two submarines, customized for the Venture, each with a 7-passenger capacity including the pilot. These submarines can travel as deep as 300 meters beneath the surface of the water, granting those inside with an exclusive look at the marvelous ocean life. Furthermore, the ship carries ebikes, kayaks, mountain bikes and 24 Zodiac boats, allowing guests the ability to traverse the shore however they please.
