Seabourn Legend Cruise Review

Deirdre Irlam

Holiday Greetings from the Seabourn Legend.

While most of you are rushing around finishing last minute Christmas shopping I am lucky enough to be enjoying 2 weeks of ultimate luxury aboard the Yachts of Seabourn. I am currently hosting a charming group of guests aboard the intimate 200 passenger Seabourn Legend as she sails through the Panama Canal.

The ship currently has a total of 191 guests aboard, with an amazing 171 crew waiting to spoil us! The Seabourn Legend has beautiful, comfortable suites and the very best cuisine and service.

The kind of service that can be expected…Yesterday I arrived back onboard after a very warm afternoon ashore to find a wonderful surprise waiting for me. As I entered my gorgeous marble bathroom I discovered rose petals and a bottle of invigorating bubble bath accompanied by a note from my stewardess welcoming me back to my private haven of luxury. Now that’s service!

I have always thought that Seabourn was best for couples – so romantic to have a full service dinner served in ones suite and many intimate places to share around this lovely yacht. However, now that I’ve had the opportunity to sail as a single traveler I must report that single guests are extremely well taken care of. Every morning I receive an invitation to dine with an Officer, a lecturer or entertainer – so I never dine alone.

My favorite time I must confess has been lunchtime when I often meet with our guests and enjoy a glass of French Champagne, Caviar and … yes french fries (all complimentary of course) – so decadent!

If ever you have the opportunity to travel in the beginning of December or in November use that time to do your holiday shopping. I have found some unique holiday gifts in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama (with many more ports left to visit) as surprises to place under the Christmas tree when we return home on December 21st.

Enjoy the Holiday season and I wish you all a very Happy, healthy and peaceful New year with of course lots of cruising!

More from me when I embark Queen Mary 2 for the World Cruise in January.
