Avalon Waterways
Avalon Wateryways will launch a new 128-passenger vessel on the Rhine to be called Avalon Imagery II and a new 166-passenger vessel on the Danube to be called Avalon Passion in 2016.
CrosiEurope
French-based river cruise line CroisiEurope has unveiled an innovative new paddlewheel vessel to sail the Loire River in France. This will be the first passenger ship to offer passage on the Loire.
The 96-passenger Loire Princesse, will initially offer 6-8 day cruises of the Loire River, visiting UNESCO-designated, including Nantes, Saint-Nazaire, Ancenis, Angers, the Castles of the Loire, Saumur and Bouchemaine.
This ship uses the newest in green technology that incorporates dual engine technology enabling it to continue sailing when normal methods of propulsion would not be effective in the river’s notoriously shallow waters.
Carnival Cruises
Carnival Corporation will add nine ships to its fleet over a four-year period starting in 2019, the goal of these is both to boost fuel efficiency and be a leader in amenities for their guests.
Arnold Donald, president and CEO of Carnival Corporation said “Our goal as a company is to exceed the expectations of every guest on every ship every day, and these new ships will further enable us to do just that. These will be the most efficient ships we have ever built and the great guest experience will create even more excitement around cruising – helping new cruisers realize the superior vacation experience and value that cruising offers versus land-based vacations.”
The ships are expected to sail routes in Europe and North America, as well as serve the growing interest in China.
