Oceania’s Best Suites

As far as suites go, Oceania Cruises sets the bar higher than most with its exquisite Owner’s Suites aboard its two newest vessels, Marina and Riviera. Though spacious, they’re not the biggest suites afloat, nor are they the flashiest.

What they are, however, is a modern take on the opulent and grand suites of the glory days of transatlantic ocean travel – and they’re some of my favorite accommodations at sea.

Furnished entirely with classy Ralph Lauren Home Collection décor, there are three, 2000-square-feet Owner’s Suites aboard both Marina and Riviera.

Each Owner’s Suite features:

  • a large living room
  • a separate bedroom with a king-sized bed
  • two walk-in closets
  • indoor and outdoor whirlpool tubs
  • a foyer that opens up to reveal a dedicated music room

Decor: Vibrant shades of blue and turquoise are used throughout these Owner’s Suites to provide guests with a subtle connection with the sea. Dark wall treatments inset into white accent panels recall the grand liners like Mauretania and Normandie, while the list of modern amenities included with these sumptuous suites reflects the modern.

Butler: Wrapped up in their elegant surroundings and flanked by wall-to-wall windows, guests in these Owner’s Suites can enjoy meals served to them by their butler – course by course. The butler will pack and unpack your luggage for you upon request, and even coordinate shore excursion and dinner reservations.

Early boarding: In these suites, nearly every possible decision comes with a whole host of potential alternatives. Guests in Owner’s Suites can board their ship as early as 11 a.m. on embarkation day, with priority luggage delivery. Once in their suite, guests can select up to six, full-sized bottles of their favorite premium alcoholic beverages to be delivered to their stateroom at no extra charge.

Spa access: If you can pull yourself away from your suite long enough, you may want to enjoy complimentary access to the ever-popular Canyon Ranch SpaClub’s private outdoor terrace, which you can experience while surfing the internet with your complimentary iPad.

The Owner’s Suites will also include complimentary internet access for the entire voyage.

Extra perks:
Oceania also offers Owners Suite guests:

  • a daily fresh fruit bowl
  • a Bulgari toiletries gift set
  • a complimentary Oceania Cruises tote bag
  • cashmere lap blankets for use while on the veranda
  • complimentary clothes pressing upon embarkation

With luxuries like that, it’s enough to make us want to turn every day into a sea day.
