In case you missed it, Royal Caribbean has been beating their own record for the biggest ship in the world over and over again. With each new ship blowing us away with the array of thrilling attractions and new-to-cruise-ship offerings. Despite the unique differences between these new mega ships, we wanted to take the time to remind those considering a cruise of all of the benefits to cruising on one of the world’s largest ships.

Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley disclosed in a Business Insider interview that the designers and architects of these ships didn’t necessarily set out to create the biggest ships. Rather, they focused on the overall experience of the guests. “When we set out to design ships originally in the concept phase… we really get caught up in concept and what we’re trying to deliver,” Bayley explained during the interview.

Are you excited to see what makes these ships stand out? Here are five reasons to sail on these thrilling mega ship.

  1. Big Ship Energy

The best part of a cruise with Royal Caribbean is the shared excitement for the journey. From the smiling faces of guests and the crew to eager help from the service team members, everyone aboard will be energized by the positive atmosphere. With a variety of new people to meet, you’ll have the chance to make lifelong friends on your voyage.

  1. Itineraries Close to Home

Another benefit is that it’s easy to book a voyage on one of these vessels, as well as to fit it into your schedule. For a refreshing alternative to longer cruises in distant lands, Royal Caribbean offers an abundance of itineraries to the beautiful islands of the Caribbean. Fun weekend escapes or weeklong vacations to the tropics will have you packing your bag in no time.

  1. Endless Entertainment

It’s well-known that Royal Caribbean is the master of entertainment, and the bigger the ship, the more options for fun. There truly is something for everyone in your group, especially for multi-generational vacations. After seeing the success of the world’s first shipboard waterslides aboard the Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean delivered time and time again. Adrenaline-seekers will have a blast on the assortment of waterslides—some as high as three stories tall—as well as catching a wave on the FlowRider surf simulator.

Other entertainment includes the world’s first cruise glow-in-the-dark laser tag, as well as arcade games, dance classes, cooking classes and more. There are Broadway-style shows, live orchestra performances, invigorating spa services and even beautiful ice skating spectacles and breathtaking Aquatheater shows.

  1. Access to Private Destinations

Travelers ready for a truly unique vacation will be happy with itineraries that stop in Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. This private island is the ideal day of adventure featuring Thrill Waterpark, Splashaway Bay aqua park, the Oasis freshwater pool, the Zip Line and more. Plus, almost all of the things to do on Perfect Day at CocoCay are complimentary, meant to be enjoyed by all. This is a truly one-of-a-kind island.
