Board your independent overnight flight to Ushuaia via Buenos Aires. Transfer to the hotel with the rest of the day at leisure. Join your leader and fellow guests at the hotel this evening for a welcome dinner and briefing.

Ushuaia/Embark World Explorer:
Relax at your hotel this morning or take in the local sights independently. This afternoon embark World Explorer.

Drake Passage: Cruise Only
Keep a keen eye out for birds such as the black-browed albatross, petrels and sooty shearwaters, as well as whales.
Nov 30-Dec 1
Antarctic Peninsula:
Explore the region by zodiac and by foot, looking for penguins, leopard seals and an abundance of wildlife, while admiring towering icebergs amid the unique land and seascapes*.

Solar Eclipse at Sea:
Rise up early this morning and view the eclipse with special glasses provided by onboard experts. Commemorate the event with a celebratory toast afterwards. Later, look our for marine birds and other wildlife at sea.
Dec 5-7 South Georgia Island:
South Georgia Island is home to an abundance of penguin colonies. If the conditions are right you may enjoy access to these highlights of the area: Gold Harbour, which lies at the foot of the Bertrab Glacier. In addition to a large king penguin colony, you are likely to see elephant and fur seals, gentoo penguins, giant petrels, and with luck, light-mantled albatross. Grytviken is host to the ruins of an abandoned whaling station, including the cemetery where the polar explorer Shackleton is buried. Seabirds, penguins, and marine mammals can also be found here. Stromness Bay – The site of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his party’s arrival, Stromness offers views of cliffs and a glacier from which the adventurer and his companions descended. Salisbury Plain – Two glaciers flank Salisbury Plain on South Georgia’s north coast. Here, more than 200,000 king penguins congregate and breed.
Dec 8-11 Days at Sea:
Relax on board as you recap your adventures with the onboard expedition team.
Dec 12-13 Ushuaia/Disembark/Buenos Aires:
Disembark World Explorer and transfer to your flight to Buenos Aires and on to your independent international flight home. Arrive home on December 13.
