Originally the lifelong private collection of one oil tycoon, Mr. Calouste Gulbenkian ultimately willed his approximately 6,000 pieces of priceless art, sculptures and craftwork to the city of Lisbon. Today, you can wander the different chapters of his collection — Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Mesopotamian, Islamic, Armenian, Far Eastern and Western art — as well as the surrounding garden (also named after Gulbenkian).
