Oceania Allura Cruise Review: Refined, Inspired, and Absolutely Oceania

I recently had the opportunity to step aboard Oceania Cruises’ newest ship, Oceania Allura, and I’ll say this upfront: she is spectacular. I joined for a short sailing to experience the ship firsthand and attend the christening, and Oceania Allura made a lasting impression.

Let’s start with what Oceania does best—the food. As expected, the culinary experience is outstanding. Every dining venue from the main dining room to all the specialty restaurants exceeded expectations. One of my personal highlights was finally getting to try the new crêperie, which just happens to be located near one of my favorite spots on any Oceania ship: Baristas. A great coffee, a freshly made crêpe, and that calm, elegant Oceania atmosphere. Perfection.

Speaking of comfort, I slept incredibly well. The Prestige Tranquility bed truly lives up to its reputation—I slept like a baby. It’s one of those details you really notice when you wake up refreshed day after day.

The public spaces on Allura are equally impressive. I loved the pool and pool deck, especially the comfortable pool chairs that make it easy to linger longer than planned. The fitness center is well designed and inviting, and yes—there’s even a pickleball court, which adds a fun, modern touch without feeling gimmicky. Overall, the ship strikes a wonderful balance: sophisticated and intimate, but never stuffy.

One space that truly stopped me in my tracks was the Artist Loft. It is 100% unique—creative, inspiring, and unlike anything I’ve seen at sea. It speaks to Oceania’s commitment to enriching experiences beyond dining and destinations, and it’s a space I know guests will gravitate toward again and again.

And of course, no Oceania ship would be complete without The Culinary Center. It was so much fun to get hands-on, learn new techniques, and actually cook alongside fellow guests. It’s engaging, educational, and genuinely enjoyable—even if you already love to cook.

Bottom line: Oceania Allura feels like a confident evolution of the brand. She delivers everything loyal Oceania guests expect—exceptional cuisine, gracious service, and elegant surroundings—while adding fresh ideas and beautifully designed spaces that feel current and exciting.

If you love Oceania, Allura will exceed your expectations. And if you’re new to the line, this ship is a fantastic introduction to what makes Oceania so special.
