Arlanda Express offers the fastest and easiest connection between the airport and Stockholm's city center
Arlanda Express, Quick, Easy & Cheap
You can even purchase your ticket on the tracks before boarding. If you board without purchasing a ticket, you can buy the ticket on board for an additional SEK50.
The fast train whisks you between the airport and city center in 20 minutes, with trains departing the airport and city center every 15 minutes during peak periods. You may access a timetable on your mobile phone.
Kiosks for purchasing Arlanda Express tickets are easy to find at Arlanda Airport.
At Arlanda Airport, Stockholm City's information center also sells tickets for the Arlanda Express and other modes of transportation.
Traveling from the airport, Arlanda Express terminates at Central Station in the city center.
Arlanda Express terminates at Stockholm's Central Train Station, where you can continue on by taxi or metro.
Arlanda Express is not the cheapest way to reach Central Station. The Flygbussarna (airport bus) costs only SEK 110 per person (about US$15), but takes twice as long to get there.
City Center hotels are only steps away.
Terminating at Central Station is great if you’re staying at one of these hotels: Radisson SAS Royal Viking, Nordic Light or Nordic Sea, and Clarion Hotel Sign, and although it’s not shown in the photo, the Sheraton Stockholm (about a five-minute walk from the Arlanda Express terminus).
A Taxi May Be Your Best Bet
If you’re not staying in one of the easy-to-reach hotels or if you’re headed to your ship, docked at Frihamnen or Stadsgården or elsewhere, you are probably better off taking a taxi from the Airport to your ship. From Central Station To Your Ship
By the way, if you travel by Arlanda Express to Central Station and want to get from there to your ship, your best bet is a taxi. From Central Station to Frihamnen should run you about SEK150-175 and to Stadsgården about SEK120 using Taxi Stockholm.
When In Stockholm: Pedal A Bike
If you’re staying at a hotel that offers them, bicycles are another great way to get around once in Stockholm. Hilton Slussen and Scandic Anglais make bikes available free of charge.
