Princess Cruises: Ruby Princess

Trista & Ryan Sutter of the reality series The Bachelorette christened Ruby Princess in Fort Lauderdale on November 6 as Carnival Corporation Chairman and CEO Micky Arison looked on.

Third in a series of superships that have tweaked the innovations of Princess’ Grand class, Ruby Princess will be familiar to those who have already enjoyed the Crown Princess or the Emerald Princess. Even so, this sparkling Ruby offers several new enhancements that many passengers will undoubtedly appreciate.

Innovations on the 3,070-passenger Ruby Princess include the Wheelhouse Bar Pub Lunch, featuring on sea days complimentary fish & chips, bangers & mash, ploughman’s lunch, cottage pie and a selection of beers and ales.

Also new: Sabatini’s Breakfast for suite passengers; a new line of Artisan Cheeses at Vines, the wine bar situated in the atrium; and other dining enhancements such as waffle stations and complimentary lemonade in the Horizon Court buffet.

As with her impressive sister ships, the focal point of shipboard life is the piazza-style atrium a perfect venue for shopping, lounging and people watching at the coffee shop, bakery and wine bar, while street entertainers perform.

Ruby Princess also features popular innovations such as the Lotus Spa, Movies Under the Stars, and Personal Choice Dining.

Familiar dining options such as the Crown Grill steak and seafood restaurant and The Sanctuary, an outdoor, adult-only lounging area, also were installed on the Ruby Princess.

Ruby Princess will spend its maiden season cruising the Western Caribbean roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale. The seven-night voyages will call at Jamaica’s Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Princess Cays, Princess’ private Bahamian island.

Designed to appeal to the growing family market for cruising, Ruby Princess features an extensive children and teen’s center, a wedding chapel and nearly 900 staterooms with private balconies — perfect for enjoying the ruby-red sunsets of the Caribbean islands.
