1 Vienna Arrive Vienna, transfer to your awaiting ship. (D)
2 Amsterdam Experience the highlights of Amsterdam on a panoramic city tour and a cruise through its 17th century canals, and then choose to visit one of two world-famous museums: the Rijksmuseum or the Van Gogh Museum. (BB, L, D)
3 Cologne Stroll through Old Town as you make your way to Cologne Cathedral. From every angle, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a masterpiece. In the evening, enjoy a Captain’s Reception and Gala Dinner. (D) Note: On Sundays and Catholic holidays, guided tours inside the cathedral will not be possible.
4 Rüdesheim Visit a museum full of curious self-playing musical instruments before cruising the Upper Middle RhineValley, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. (BB, L, D)
5  Frankfurt Two options: Roam with your guide through the historic heart of the dynamic city and stop by the colorful Kleinmarkthalle to taste the famous local sausage and try the regional cider, called ebbelwoi. Or get a short, concentrated introduction to the city’s highlights, including its landmark skyscraper, Main Tower. (BB, L, D)
6  Miltenberg Visit Miltenberg, with its fairytale half-timbered Crooked House and Royal Inn; then take an exclusive tour of Castle Löwenstein, a magnificent18th-century palace whose princely owner will be your guide. Afterward, enjoy a wine tasting on the premises. (BB, L, D)
7 Würzburg Tour the Würzburg Residenz, a splendid UNESCO designated Baroque palace, in the morning, and later visit the best-preserved Medieval town in Germany, Rothenburg, which boasts imposing fortifications. (BB, D)
8 Bamberg Explore the UNESCO World Heritage-designated core of Bamberg, which retains its Medieval layout, Renaissance palaces, and Baroque houses. (BB, L, D)
9 Nuremberg Cruise a section of the Main-Danube Canal, a marvel of modern engineering. Then discover Nuremberg, a Medieval gem, during a panoramic city tour. Or see the city’s most important WW II sites, including the Nazi Party Rally Grounds and Courtroom 600, venue of the Nuremberg Military Tribunal. (BB, L, D) Note: Courtroom 600 is an active court. Visitors will only be permitted to see the courtroom during trial breaks.
10 Regensburg On your tour of Regensburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marvel at the town’s famous 12th-century Stone Bridge, the Roman gateway Porta Praetoria, the Cathedral of St. Peter, and other treasures. Or, tour sites associated with Germany’s oldest Jewish community, which date back more than a thousand years. Or, visit the Audi factory in Ingolstadt. (BB, L, D)
11 Engelhartszell You have many delightful options today. Enjoy a scenic sail through the Schlögener Schlinge—a beautiful oxbow in the Danube—and then visit Engelszell Abbey for an organ concert and a beer and cheese tasting. Or bike along the Danube with a local guide. Complete the day’s adventures with an exploration of Passau’s surprising Italian Baroque flair, or, for another active option, take a guided bike ride along the Inn River. (BB, L, D)
12  Dürnstein Walk through the lovely Baroque village of Dürnstein and sample the local apricot schnapps, or discover another longtime agricultural treasure of the region, saffron, which has grown here for 800 years. A grower and chef will teach you about this exotic spice and invite you to taste various saffron-flavored foods. Then cruise the enchanting UNESCO-designated Wachau Valley. (BB, L, D)
13 Vienna Encounter the highlights of Vienna’s, including the Imperial Treasury rooms in the Hofburg Palace, where the empire’s dazzling crown jewels are displayed. 16 Vienna Get to know Vienna’s imperial history during a tour that takes you along the stately Ringstrasse to the beautiful Austrian National Library. Or opt to explore Vienna with an art historian, taking in the Belvedere and the Museum of Fine Arts. (BB, L, D) Note: The Austrian National Library is closed on Mondays. If the tour lands on a Monday, Mozarthaus will be visited instead.
17 Bratislava Take a guided stroll through Slovakia’s capital city. (BB, L, D)
18  Budapest After enjoying some leisure time in Budapest, drive to Szentendre Island’s Bodor Mayor Horse Farm for a private reception and a dazzling display of horsemanship in the style of Hungary’s ancient cowboys—the Magyar Csikós. (BB, L, D)
19 Budapest A panoramic tour shows you Budapest’s top sights, from Castle Hill to Parliament to the Grand Market. Or discover the city’s treasures like a local: hop the metro to a famous pastry shop decorated with brilliant tile work, stroll romantic Karoly Gardens, and visit Market Hall. (BB, L, D)
20 Mohács (Pécs) Pécs boasts a fascinating array of Roman ruins and Ottoman mosques-turned-churches. The region is famous for its vinoculture; taste the celebrated red wines produced in the Villány Hills on a special wine excursion. (BB, L, D)
21 Osijek, Vukovar Children perform for you at their school before you take a tour of the town and savor an exclusive home-hosted lunch. (BB, L, D) Note: School visit not available during school holidays.
22 Belgrade Enjoy a panoramic drive through Belgrade, explore vast Kalemegdan Fortress on foot, and see a bit of a city that loves to shop and party. (BB, L, D)
23 Iron Gates Spend a peaceful day cruising the majestic Iron Gates. (BB, L, D)
24 Vidin Explore the lesser-known town of Vidin and see a live performance before visiting the peculiar Belogradchik rocks. (BB, L, D)
25 Rousse In Veliko Tarnovo, see the majestic ruins of Tsarevetz Castle. In Arbanassi, see the frescoed Nativity Church and stop at a village restaurant for a typical Bulgarian lunch, complete with live folk music. Or opt for a tour of the countryside, including the rock-hewn cave churches of Ivanovo and Basarbovo. (BB, L, D)
26 Giurgiu/ Bucharest Disembark, transfer to Bucharest. Start the day with a panoramic tour of eclectic Bucharest, with its mix of monumental Communist buildings and French-influenced architecture. (BB)
27 Bucharest/ Istanbul Fly to Islandbul. Explore its many charms at your leisure. Stroll the Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum or take in the Basilica Cistern, with its forest of marble columns.
28 Istanbul Today’s panoramic tour takes you to the Hippodrome; the Blue Mosque, with its distinctive minarets and blue Iznik tile walls; spectacular Hagia Sophia (the Church of Holy Wisdom), which was built in 535 AD; Or Topkapi Palace, a magnificent Ottoman residence. Then wend your way through the vaulted passages and 6,000 merchant stalls of the Grand Bazaar. (BB) Note: Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque) is a place of active worship. Ceremonies may restrict visitors from entering at times. Hagia Sophia is closed on Mondays and Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. The city tour of Istanbul will be arranged in accordance with the days they are open. If Hagia Sophia is not available Topkapi Palace will be visited instead.
