Crystal Cruises unveiled its 2011 season with returns to Alaska and West Africa, among the 58 cruises visiting 163 ports in 67 countries. The Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity will embark on journeys throughout the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Baltic, Alaska, New England/Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Hawaii, Australia/New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, India, South America and Africa. Crystal Serenity’s 15th annual World Cruise spans 110 days on a new route around east and west Africa.

3790011795_fa00261ed7My husband and I boarded our first Holland America Line cruise in not-so sunny Vancouver, BC for seven-days sailing Alaska. From the moment we entered the ship we were immersed into the friendly, warm atmosphere of the ms Volendam. In a later posting I’ll talk more to the destinations we visited, for now I’d like to share with you our Holland America experience.

 

 

Princess Cruises Brings Rare Document to Alaska

First Time Historic Document Has Visited Alaska

Celebrating the Fourth of July and Alaska’s 50th anniversary of statehood, Princess Cruises showcased a rare, original copy of the United States of America’s founding document aboard Coral Princess Thursday during an onboard reception with local dignitaries and special guests.

The document was aboard Coral Princess to give passengers the unique opportunity to view the only traveling copy of the Declaration of Independence. This rare document is being showcased to more than 17,000 passengers aboard all eight Princess ships visiting Juneau during Independence week, July 1-8.
